We are currently looking for:
Senior Mechanical Engineer
As a member of Octasic’s hardware team, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for all packaging aspects of Octasic products. Octasic’s cutting edge wireless products provide unparalleled performance, in a small footprint. The mechanical design engineer must create solutions to deliver compact, robust and reliable enclosures for a wide range of industrial and military wireless products, from hand-held to rackmount.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead and contribute to the design, analysis, and validation of mechanical systems and components in compliance with MIL standards; from concept through to mass production
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure integrated product development.
- Interpret and apply MIL-STD specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-810) throughout the product lifecycle.
- Prepare and review technical documentation.
- Design for and support qualification and certification activities, including environmental, shock & vibration, ingress protection and EMI/EMC testing.
- Participate in design reviews and customer meetings as a subject matter expert.
- Create and manage bill of materials for each product
- Interact with external and internal stakeholders to optimize design for manufacturing
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on projects.
- Support the legacy products, BOMs and drawings updates.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 10–15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in defense, aerospace, telecom or high-reliability industries.
- Experience designing RF products with related EMI and cooling considerations
- Experience with PCB layout: keep-out, height restrictions, stack-up interferences, ...
- Experience with thermal modeling/simulation
- Proficient in 3D CAD modeling, preferably SolidWorks
- Good planning skills and ability to work on multiple projects
- Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written, for effective communication with our international team
- The ability to use SolidWorks, Flow simulator and Windchill is an asset.
- Eligibility for security clearance is an asset.
