Manitoba Hydro is a leader among energy companies in North America, recognized for providing highly reliable service and
exceptional customer satisfaction. Join our team of Manitoba's best as we continue to build a company that supports innovation,
commitment, and customer service, while actively supporting a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.

As a key member of the Digital & Technology Vendor Management team, this role will lead the further development, implementation,
enhancement, and promotion of a centralized approach to technology vendor management. This position will be a key contributor to
various teams throughout the technology product lifecycle, providing subject-matter expertise and recommendations on contracting
and vendor management.

Key to success is strong negotiation skills and the ability to lead complex discussions to secure favourable outcomes. Success
requires the ability to identify and translate contracting trends and past practices into actionable plans that support long-term vendor
management capability development across the D&T Business Unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in technology contracting, including contract terms, historical precedents, supplier

relationship management, and advise on the process for leveraging existing Digital & Technology (D&T) agreements.

  • Participate in complex technology contract negotiations alongside contract owners, Supply Chain Management and Legal

Services. Assist in resolving escalated vendor management issues throughout the contract lifecycle.

  • Lead the research, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standards and procedures of the

technology procurement cycle and for technology contract models within the Business Unit.

  • Provide subject matter expertise, coaching and support in procurement and contract management to the Business Unit, in

collaboration with Supply Chain Management.

  • Maintain a repository of key negotiated terms to serve as a centralized knowledge base, capturing typical negotiation positions

and rationale.

  • Remain current in technology road mapping with stakeholders to understand upgrade timelines, emerging capabilities, and

end-of-life plans. Translate these into aligned contracting roadmaps, using existing or new agreements.

  • Share and maintain visibility of contracting roadmaps with the Supply Chain Management team to support collaborative,

proactive planning for contract updates and new procurement requirements.

  • Develop a scalable framework or dashboard to monitor contract SLAs at a high level for reporting purposes. Partner with

contract administrators to recover credits for unmet SLAs and proactively manage true-up processes for anticipated
consumption overages.

  • Work closely with cloud platform specialists to participate in the development and implementation of Cloud Financial

Operations (FinOps) practices for Manitoba Hydro's major cloud consumption contracts, such as Microsoft Azure and SAP
RISE.

  • Oversee and manage the multi-stakeholder, Business Unit-wide technology contracts, such as Microsoft, SAP and various

BU-wide Master Services Agreements (MSAs) for consulting and professional services.

  • Develop expertise in "value-added" technology contracts and partner-funded offerings. Engage with vendor account

managers to understand these agreements, promote awareness, recommend usage, and track return on investment with
internal teams.
