About the Opportunity
Harvard Media’s X92.9, one of Canada’s top Alternative stations, is looking for a Drive Show Host to join Ty in the Afternoon and cover a maternity leave term through September 2025 (subject to change with 30 days’ notice). This is a high-profile on-air role leading Calgary’s afternoon drive, delivering fresh energy, creativity and connection to an alt-loving community. If you thrive on entertaining listeners, driving digital engagement and representing a brand both on-air and in the community, this opportunity is for you.
Note: This is a maternity leave coverage position. The successful candidate will not be eligible for Harvard Media’s standard group benefits; however, vacation entitlement will apply in accordance with company policy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Host and deliver an engaging, entertaining weekday afternoon program (2–7 PM) on X92.9.
- Represent X92.9 at station appearances, events, and client remotes as a brand ambassador.
- Create compelling daily digital and social content to connect with audiences across platforms.
- Voice-track, voice commercials, and contribute to podcasts and digital initiatives.
- Collaborate with promotions and production teams to execute creative campaigns.
- Maintain a strong on-air and digital presence that grows X92.9’s reach and impact.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Unbridled creativity and superior show prep chops.
- Digital media ninja (on-camera skills included).
- Familiarity with Wide Orbit, MusicMaster, SoCast and Sparc is an asset.
- An unrelenting hunger to win.
- Strong interpersonal skills (people like you).
Essential Requirements:
- 2+ years of on-air experience in a competitive radio market.
- Exceptional show prep and content development skills.
- Strong digital and on-camera presence, confident in creating video/social content.
- Familiarity with Wide Orbit, MusicMaster, SoCast and Sparc is an asset.
- Excellent time management, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- A team-player mindset with drive, adaptability, and a hunger to win.
