About the role

Description

Your role, as a Government Relations Senior Account Executive will be responsible for growing Dye & Durham’s APIC Canada business by building and expanding relationships with municipalities and government organizations across Canada. This role will focus on driving efficiency in municipal operations and workflows through APIC Canada’s technology solutions, while also supporting integration with Dye & Durham’s legal software and law firm customer ecosystem.

You will act as both an Account Manager for existing municipal partners and an Account Executive for new business, with a mandate to onboard new municipalities—starting in Ontario and expanding nationally. Success in this role will be measured by customer retention, new municipality adoption, and the expansion of APIC Canada’s presence across Canada.

A passion for the industry is a must, along with a dynamic and flexible approach to managing your time and tasks. You'll be joining a small and collaborative team, and you will wear many hats as an integral part of that team, with huge opportunity for growth and impact as a result.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for APIC Canada municipal customers, ensuring long-term, value-driven relationships that deliver exceptional day-to-day experiences.
  • Maintain existing revenue by driving high customer satisfaction, renewals, and adoption of Dye & Durham’s products and services.
  • Generate new revenue growth by identifying, prospecting, and onboarding new municipalities across Ontario and expanding throughout Canada.
  • Execute on sales strategies and tactics to consistently meet and exceed assigned KPIs, including net new revenue, retention, and adoption metrics.
  • Proactively identify upsell, cross-sell, and renewal opportunities within existing customer accounts, negotiating contracts and closing agreements to achieve sales objectives.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with municipal stakeholders, executive sponsors, and law firm partners to deepen customer engagement and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to align on strategic account planning, customer feedback, and go-to-market activities.
  • Track, forecast, and report key account metrics (revenue growth, retention, churn risk) to internal stakeholders, providing insights to inform business strategy.
  • Represent Dye & Durham and APIC Canada at client meetings, industry events, and conferences to strengthen brand presence and generate new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate client records and pipeline reporting, ensuring all customer interactions, contract updates, and renewals are documented.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Proven experience in B2B software sales or account management, ideally within SaaS, LegalTech, or GovTech environments.
  • Familiarity with government relations and municipal decision-making processes in Canada, with an understanding of how municipalities evaluate and adopt new technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in working with or selling to municipalities or public sector organizations.
  • Skilled in relationship-based sales (not RFP-driven), with the ability to build trust, secure stakeholder buy-in, and drive adoption at no direct cost to municipalities.
  • Experience with contracting, negotiations, and structured follow-ups, ensuring timely onboarding and long-term retention of customers.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver clear weekly, monthly, and quarterly pipeline and revenue reports to management.
  • Comfort presenting to municipal leaders, executives, and committees, both in-person and virtually.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and results-driven, with a passion for helping municipalities adopt technology to improve efficiency and workflows.
