Registered Nurse – Adult Withdrawal Unit (AWU) Location: Northern British Columbia, Across Multiple Facilities
Professional Summary Seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide patient-centered care in an Adult Withdrawal Unit, supporting individuals through withdrawal management, stabilization, and recovery, ensuring safety and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities Provide assessment, monitoring, and withdrawal management care Administer medications and follow clinical protocols (e.g., CIWA, COWS) Ensure patient safety, observation, and crisis intervention Support mental health and addiction recovery needs Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams Maintain accurate clinical documentation Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
Qualifications (BC Standards) ✔ Registered Nurse (BSN or equivalent) ✔ Active registration with BCCNM (BC College of Nurses and Midwives) ✔ Adult Withdrawal / Mental Health / Addictions experience preferred ✔ Strong knowledge of withdrawal protocols, mental health care, and medications ✔ Certification in BLS/CPR (required) ✔ Crisis prevention/intervention training (preferred) ✔ Ability to work in fast-paced/rural settings ✔ Strong clinical judgment, communication, and adaptability
Position Details Pay: CAD $48–$58/hour Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours bi-weekly Travel: Covered (travel + accommodation + time pay) Shift: As per facility needs
