STAFFING OFFICER

##Regular Full-Time Position

##Position Summary

The Staffing Officer prepares work schedules and payroll for clinical units, including Registered Nurses (RN), Registered Practical Nurses (RPN), Personal Support Workers (PSW) and Unit Clerks in compliance with collective agreements. This includes ensuring all clinical nursing areas are adequately staffed with appropriate ratios as directed by the department manager or patient care supervisor. The incumbent is required to maintain daily contact with nursing supervisors and managers to monitor workload changes and staffing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary certificate/diploma in Human Resources, Office Administration, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience with staff scheduling in a unionized environment.

  • Experience with an electronic time and attendance program (ADP, UKG).

  • Knowledge of collective agreements and experience in Human Resources or related environment is considered an asset.

  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organization skills.

  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, have exceptional time management skills and perform well under pressure with tight deadlines.

  • Proficient with computers, word processing and spreadsheet programs, database management and associated software applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history, and positive work references.

##Compensation & Benefits

$70,767 to $82,405 annually, based on experience
