Position Highlights
This opportunity is for a Full Time Regular P3 Work Program Manager in the Program & Contract Management (PCM)
Compliance & Emergent Initiatives portfolio for project management on the Stations Projects team.
We are responsible for delivering more than $50 million in Stations infrastructure maintenance and replacements projects
every year. The Stations Projects group delivers an array of projects including civil, mechanical, electrical, and telecom
related to new, end of-life replacements, maintenance, and refurbishment of assets. This team carries a portfolio of
approximately 200 projects in various delivery phases, worth a total of $500M, and growing.
We work with stakeholders and delivery partners across the organization including Planning, GSO, TDSO, Asset
Management, Engineering, Standards, Field Operations, Indigenous Relations, Customer Relations, Safety, Environment
and more to plan, build, and execute our work.
This role brings an important element to the PCM team, leading the safe project delivery across the province, and ensuring
BC Hydro can provide our customers with reliable, affordable and clean electricity.
What you'll do
You will lead the execution and manage the delivery of a portfolio of projects with an annual capital budget of $10-20
million. As part of the Stations Projects team, you will oversee project work across the Southern Interior Region with a focus
on the West Kootenay area. Reporting to the Regional Team Lead, you will contribute to the success of the projects, PCM,
and BC Hydro.
- Plan, execute, and deliver projects of various types (Distribution, Communication Infrastructure, Dam Safety, Public Safety
and Stations) with a $10-20M annual capital budget.
- Leadership and project management to ensure that the Stations Portfolio of Projects are safely delivered to expectations
including scope, schedule, and cost.
- Analyze and interpret complex financial data with strong analytical skills to drive strategic decision-making.
- Project progress monitoring, reporting, forecasting, problem solving and escalation.
- Engage collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and execute strategies to maximize efficiency and delivery of projects.
- Communicate effectively to stakeholders and delivery partners, both orally and in writing.
- Foresee, assess, manage, and escalate program risks or roadblocks during execution.
- Identify and implement innovative and efficient process improvements.
- Travel to site as needed to meet internal and external groups, and support design, permitting and field coordination/
construction.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Candidates with alternative skillsets, and/or demonstrating a
combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.

Minimum 5 + years of project or program management experience, leading cross-functional teams.

Proven experience estimating, scheduling, and managing $2M+ projects of equivalent risk, scale, and work type.

Demonstrated understanding of project and program management principles, including various delivery models, and
contracting strategies. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills for effective communication, facilitation and relationship building.
- Demonstrated well-developed planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate, assess, monitor, and proactively address risks. Investigates and analyses challenging
problems, evaluates risks, and applies innovative solutions.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills with ability to resolve conflicts in a proactive manner.
- Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word, Excel, Project, and SharePoint.
- Good understanding of electrical systems from generation to the end user, with a focus on Stations Assets is considered
an asset but not a requirement.
