BMO is looking for Mainframe Environment Support Analyst to join their team for supporting the mainframe development/testing environments in a team of 14. This is a permanent full time role located in Scarborough, ON (expected to be in office 2 times a week or 8 times a month).
This is a 100% hands-on role with team collaboration/documentation duties involved.
Hands-on tasks:

Build and maintain the QA and Development test environments.

Build CICS test regions and set up offline JCL as per business requirements.

Review Environment Build Document, and provide feedback and suggestions to project teams.
-
Monitor performance of CICS applications' Batch processing jobs.
-
Provide support/service to the QA and Development groups for applications.
-
Participate in project and team meetings interacting and collaborating with team members and other departments (e.g. QA and Development teams).
-
Automate manual processes to increase the efficiency of the processes.
-
Ensure environment set-up meets the project requirements based on documentation provided.
-
Support the projects for the duration of testing and implementation.
-
Complete all environment support activities in a timely and accurate manner.

Participate in Disaster Recovery Exercise.

Diagnose/troubleshoot/resolve/escalate problems in a timely manner.
Team Collaboration Skills:
-
Contribute to Release Planning sessions with Dev, QA and project stakeholders.
-
Contributes to building a knowledge base for the team (creating and updating documentation).
-
Contributes to the groups objectives by actively engaging in projects and getting cross-trained on multiple applications under the teams portfolio.

Assists in identifying gaps, increasing the effectiveness, and efficiency of existing operational methods and workflows by identifying, recommending and implementing process improvements.

Offers input and provides analysis to support continuous improvement of business processes and procedures within the scope of the team work.
Technical Skills:
- Mainframe: TSO, JCL, RACF, CICS, VTAM, SDSF, DB2, ESP, MFT, FTP, NDM, MQ, IBM Websphere
- 7+ years of mainframe experience primarily in JCL, CICS and DB2
- College or University education or the equivalent in experience.
- Verbal & written communication skills: In-depth.
- Automation skills on mainframe using Rexx and other utilities: In-depth
- Flexibility and capability to work on Mainframe to Distributed Systems interfaces: In-depth
- Digitization and modernization of legacy mainframe utilities/tools/processes
Salary**:**
$61,600.00 - $113,900.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
