COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, McGill University, is seeking applications for a non-teaching appointment for 70 hours ($76.54/hr) to provide support on project deliverables for OCCH 699 Project Occupational Health and Safety (15 credits).
Overview:
Under supervision, the student will identify an issue relevant to occupational health and report on work accomplished (i) to review the present state of knowledge and (ii) to conduct a survey and make recommendations or to devise a study proposal and to carry out a preliminary feasibility study.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for presenting and facilitating project deliverables
- Responsible for the review of project proposals and proposed supervisors (faculty members) from students
- Responsible for guiding the student in the preparation of their report
- Communicate with faculty members and responsible for assigning one or more Occupational Health faculty members to provide a second review of final reports
- Responsible to work with students to address to ensure that comments from reviews are addressed in a timely manner and an acceptable final report is delivered
- Handle any issues as they arise
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- MS or PhD in Occupational Health
- Prior experience as a reviewer and a supervisor for OCCH 699 projects
- Prior experience as a lecturer in the MSc program in Occupational Health
- Certification as an industrial hygienist
Location: 2001 McGill College
Start and end date: August 27, 2025 to December 3, 2025
