About the role
As a Cycle Counter, you will work closely with various departments on inventory-related matters, including reconciling inventory counts, identifying shortages, and disposing of outdated stock. The Cycle Counter must be detail-oriented and consistently complete accurate work within an organization that manufactures equipment dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry. An understanding of MRP/ERP systems is an asset for this role.
Location: 100 Savage Drive, Cambridge, ON
Dedicated Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday – Friday
Job Duties
- Operate computerized inventory control systems to process accurate cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and physical inventory counts
- Monitor and verify inventory levels of raw materials and parts
- Identify potential shortages or problems and address the issue to prevent production stoppages or slowdowns
- Analyze job costing for inaccuracies
- Inventory location maintenance – maintain and create bin locations for raw materials and parts, helping to keep the facility clean and organized
- Help expedite part shortages and dispose of, and account for outdated stock
Skills and Experience
- Ability to produce accurate, detailed, and reliable inventory counts and reconciliations
- Experienced in the use of ERP/MRP systems to manage inventory
- Adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands, and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Inventory control tasks require collaboration with coworkers; effective communication and reasoning skills are essential when working on projects involving multiple team members
- Physical requirements include the use of strength such as pulling, pushing, lifting, and/or moving objects during the work, as well as standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending
- Potential exposure to weather changes (hot, cold, wind, rain, etc.) when working outside
Qualifications
- Previous Inventory Control experience in an industrial setting.
- Robust Microsoft Office and Microsoft D365 (or other inventory management program) skills.
- An understanding of MRP/ERP systems is an asset in this role.
- Previous related experience in the areas of inventory control, warehouse, logistics, supply chain management, materials management or a related field an asset.
