About the role

As a Systems Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex systems and solutions that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency in the aerospace industry. You will work within cross-functional teams on cutting-edge projects that transform the way aircraft operate. Your expertise in systems engineering, project management, and technical guidance will be instrumental in shaping the future of technology and industry solutions.

You will report directly to our Systems Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Mississauga, ON location on a hybrid work schedule.

You will be working on aircraft development programs at Honeywell. You will be working with a team of Control Systems Engineers to develop detailed software specifications for Environmental Control Systems. Control Systems Design team is currently supporting projects for a variety of customers and applications including commercial, military, and urban air mobility platforms.

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP security clearance.

As a member of an Engineering Design project team, provide Control Systems input by performing the following duties:

  • Develop closed-loop controls design for ECS and VCS systems

  • Develop simulation models of thermal mechanical systems

  • Develop hardware and software requirements specifications

  • Perform hardware, software and system integration testing

  • Write system verification plans and procedures

  • Travel to internal and external customer sites to provide Control Systems Engineering support

  • Demonstrate outstanding performance in a team environment to meet intensive task schedule for assigned project(s)

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Systems Design, Aerospace, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with electronics systems
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with closed-loop controls design. Minimum 1 year of experience with DOORS and MATLAB

WE VALUE

  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics and thermal system closed-loop controls
  • Knowledge of DO-178C, DO-331, ARP4754 and ARP4761
  • Proven experience in hardware/software requirement development and integration for ECS applications
  • In-depth knowledge of major aircraft OEM development standards is a strong asset
  • Adaptability to a variety of assignments
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve problems in an effective/efficient/organized manner
  • Good listening and negotiating skills
  • Ability to deal tactfully, ethically and confidently with internal and external customers to resolve system issues Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
