About the role

Senior PreK Teacher
Primary Division – InnovOak School

InnovOak School is a rapidly growing private school offering strong academic rigour within an innovative, nurturing environment. We serve students from JK–12 and grant both the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and the InnovOak Honors School Graduation Diploma (ISHGD). Our blended program combines the Ontario Curriculum, Cambridge content, Singapore Math, and LifeREADY principles through our Everstone+ framework.

At InnovOak, we are dedicated to creating an environment where both students and teachers can thrive. As part of our team, you will contribute to shaping the future of education in a dynamic, supportive, and collaborative school culture.

Position Overview

InnovOak School is seeking a confident and experienced Senior Pre-K Teacher to lead the quality and structure of our early years program. This role requires both classroom skill and program insight to build strong systems, routines, and communication practices that reflect InnovOak’s academic and safety standards.

The successful candidate will be a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) who understands the Ontario Full-Day Kindergarten framework and recognizes where stronger structure and academic focus are needed. InnovOak’s Pre-K model prepares students for our JK level through purposeful teaching, consistent routines, and clear expectations.

Experience with Montessori or Reggio methods is valued, with the ability to blend best practices into a structured, academically guided setting. The ideal teacher is creative, organized, warm, and compassionate, yet confident in leading initiatives and building program systems. This position may grow into a supervisory role as the division expands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a structured Pre-K program that prepares students for the academic and behavioural expectations of InnovOak’s JK level

  • Establish and maintain clear routines, documentation, and communication systems that promote consistency and safety

  • Manage both daily instructional planning and broader program organization with foresight and precision

  • Transform program ideas and refinements into practical classroom routines, teaching tools, and long-term systems that strengthen the program from the ground up

  • Teach purposeful lessons that build independence, early literacy, and numeracy readiness through guided exploration and structured practice

  • Maintain high standards of classroom order, tone, and professionalism to ensure a calm, secure learning environment

  • Collaborate with school leadership to develop and refine the Pre-K program’s structure, supporting a developing colleague in shared implementation

  • Communicate clearly and regularly with families to build trust, understanding, and continuity between home and school

What We Are Looking For

  • A confident and experienced RECE who is highly organized, reliable, and committed to program excellence

  • A professional who understands the Ontario FDK framework and recognizes where stronger structure, routine, and academic purpose are needed

  • A teacher who combines warmth, creativity, and compassion with consistency and clear expectations

  • A self-starter who can design systems, refine ideas, and build strong classroom and program structures from the ground up

  • A reflective, detail-oriented individual who values safety, calm tone, and effective communication with both families and colleagues

Qualifications

  • Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in high-quality preschool, early learning, or private school settings

  • Experience in a position of professional responsibility, including parent communication, program coordination, or mentorship of other staff

  • Demonstrated ability to lead program planning, maintain classroom structure, and foster strong family engagement

  • Understanding of Ontario Full-Day Kindergarten (FDK) expectations and the ability to strengthen them through clear routines, structured instruction, and purposeful planning

  • Experience with or exposure to Montessori or Reggio approaches and the ability to adapt their best practices within a structured, academically guided environment

  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain high standards without constant oversight

  • Strong organizational and communication skills combined with warmth, consistency, and professional presence

Additional Information

This role shapes the long-term foundation of InnovOak’s Pre-K program and may expand to include supervisory or coordination role as the program grows and expands
