Job Description We're seeking an experienced Software Engineering Developer, Integration to join our Land Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Applications team. In this role you'll collaborate with customers and global vendors to design, build, and integrate custom software solutions for the Canadian Army.

As part of our team, you'll work on a variety of projects, including battle management, planning, communication, and data exchange applications, using leading technologies. With opportunities to develop new skills and work on cutting-edge projects, this role is ideal for someone looking to get broad exposure to complex systems and contribute to the development of solutions that involve integration, development and automated testing.

This is an integration-focused software role so you will be responsible for building and maintaining code in custom applications and plugins, as well as configuration and deployment infrastructure. There is also a large focus on the implementation and maintenance of automated testing. You will work with developers and testers to develop and maintain the overall integration test for the Applications team.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Developing new features and fixing defects
  • Supporting system level test and integration efforts
  • Developing automation tasks for use in lab deployments, production deployments, and integration testing
  • Building and maintaining virtual environments, including set up of virtual machines, their software, and networking
  • Attending recurring Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint reviews, and customer demos
  • Ensure that status of assigned work items is up to date and accurate
  • Working with the Product Owner and the Scrum Master, assist in the elaboration of team backlog items
  • Documenting the analysis, design and test

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented languages such as Java and C#
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with automated deployment tools such as Ansible
  • Experience with Gitlab and Artifactory
  • Experience with automated test frameworks
  • Knowledge of Agile and/or iterative development methods
  • Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Assets

  • Experience with DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD) is a plus
  • Experience working with the Canadian Army is highly desirable
  • Experience working on software integration projects
