About the role
Title: Financial Analyst
Location: Montréal, QC H2L 4S8 Duration: 9 Months Shift: 1st shift, Mon – Fri 8am – 5pm Pay range: 1st Shift: ($25 - $31.25/hour) Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities: Participate in the account payables process, including purchase order requisition, invoice coding, payment verifications and other related services Participate in monthly closing activities including accruals, cost allocations and maintain prepaid and depreciation schedules Take part in a broad range of activities related to the preparation and submission of the annual operating budget and monthly forecasts, including data entry, data modeling and data validation Serve as a business partner and contact for internal and external stakeholders. Help in the preparation of schedules and supporting documents for government subsidies and tax credits, and for government audits Prepare other Ad hoc analyses, reports and special projects as required by the Senior Manager, Finance Analyze monthly financial results and investigate budget-to-actual variances, providing insights and recommendations to department leaders. Support the preparation and distribution of monthly management reporting packages, including key financial metrics, trends, and performance indicators. Monitor departmental spending against approved budgets and proactively identify financial risks and opportunities. Review and validate financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Assist in the tracking and reporting of capital expenditures, project costs, and development-related investments.
Education and Experience
1-3 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis), Corporate Finance, or a related field preferred Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance or Accounting, completed or underway. Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, or month-end close activities preferred. Experience working with large datasets and performing financial analysis using Excel or similar reporting tools. Previous internship, co-op, or work experience in Finance, Accounting, Gaming, Entertainment, Media, or Technology industries is considered an asset Must be fluent in both French and English
Nice to have
Experience with VBA, Power Query, Power BI and SAP is an asset. Knowledge of the video games industry is an asset. General knowledge of accounting principles.
