What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Capital Markets, OTC Derivatives Operations. Reporting to the Director, OTC Derivatives Documentation Group of CIBC Capital Markets Operations, the Consultant, OTC Derivatives Documentation will play a key role in supporting the daily activities of OTC Confirmations and Mark-to-Market Client Statements across a comprehensive range of derivative products, including Equities, Interest Rates, Commodities, and FX Options. This position demands an analytical professional with expertise in derivatives, quantitative finance, and a commitment to operational excellence. You will interpret, analyze, and resolve complex issues and disputes, collaborating with stakeholders such as Front Office, Legal, and Technology teams. How You’ll Succeed

  • Expertise in OTC Derivatives: Demonstrate advanced knowledge of OTC derivative structures including complex and exotic products. You develop, review and match ISDA trade confirmations for a diverse range of OTC derivatives with a high degree of attention to detail. Experience with ISDA Derivatives Definitions and their applicability to OTC derivatives is essential to ensure accurate and compliant documentation in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Apply advanced skills to review Mark-to-Market valuations across asset classes, working with internal teams to verify pricing, understand models, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Analytical and Quantitative Excellence: Leverage your strong mathematical skill to analyze and interpret the algorithms and equations that govern option payoffs and cash settlements. You will assess our booking model features, price sensitivities and reconcile booking system data with legal documentation, ensuring valuations are accurate and defensible. Familiarity with industry-standard pricing models and the ability to dissect and explain payoff structures are essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize advanced analytical techniques and automation tools to synthesize and interpret large datasets from multiple sources. Proficiency in VBA, Power Automate, Tableau, Power BI, and advanced Excel is required to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities. Bring a creative mindset to exploring and piloting artificial intelligence solutions, contributing to the ongoing transformation and adoption of AI-driven processes within our operations
  • Process Innovation and Improvement: Leverage technology and innovative methods to enhance operational processes and deliver superior client outcomes. Identify, design, and implement automation solutions that streamline documentation and improve operational efficiency, creating a more agile and dynamic environment. Champion a culture of trust, open communication, and creative problem-solving.
