Position Overview

Kanata Honda & Powerhouse are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our dealership accounting department. Reporting directly to the Controller, the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting daily accounting operations and ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions within a fast-paced dealership environment.

This opportunity is ideal for an individual with strong accounting knowledge, excellent administrative skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and accuracy.

Compensation

$40,000 – $50,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and dealership background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day accounting activities including AP posting, deposits, reconciliations, and administrative support
  • Process and post Accounts Payable (AP) invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Receive, verify, and post customer deposits
  • Assist with vehicle deal posting and related accounting documentation
  • Prepare, balance, and post daily bank deposits
  • Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records and schedules
  • Support month-end closing activities and accounting reports
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with Sales, Service, Parts, Powerhouse, Reception, and Finance departments to support daily dealership operations
  • Maintain organized accounting files, records, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure compliance with dealership accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Assist with additional administrative, clerical, and accounting duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Accounting education or relevant accounting experience required
  • Previous automotive dealership experience preferred
  • Understanding of AP/AR processes and reconciliations
  • Experience working with PBS dealership management system is considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Must be professional, dependable, and a strong team player

Kanata Honda & Powerhouse do not require Canadian work experience as a condition of employment.
