Summer Rental Shop Associate
Location: Village Centre Mall – Big White Ski Resort, British Columbia
Season Duration: June – September
The Role
Big White Ski Resort is accepting applications for Summer Rental Technicians. This is an exciting opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to be part of our summer mountain operations. Full training and certification will be provided in all aspects of mountain bike rentals and safety protocols.
We’re looking for friendly, outgoing individuals with a strong work ethic and a genuine desire to deliver a great experience for our guests. A positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork are core values shared by every member of our summer team.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Service: Greet and assist customers throughout the bike rental and protective gear fitting process.
- Administrative Support: Support customer sign-in, review rental contracts, and enter data accurately into the system.
- Software Operation: Operate RTP rental software fluently as both a technician and a cashier.
- Equipment Fitting: Select and properly fit mountain bikes, helmets, and pads based on guest needs.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct pre-rental and post-rental inspections of bikes to ensure all equipment meets safety and quality standards.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment at all times.
- Documentation: Ensure thorough and accurate completion of all rental waivers and maintenance logs.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a bike shop or rental environment is preferred but not essential.
- Digital Literacy: Strong keyboarding and data entry skills for efficient guest processing.
- Communication: Excellent communication and customer service skills with a "guest-first" mentality.
- Efficiency: Good organizational and time management abilities in a high-traffic environment.
- Professionalism: A professional attitude and team-oriented mindset.
- Interpersonal Skills: Must be approachable, reliable, and able to engage positively with guests of all ages.
Additional Information
We aim to provide 32–40 hours of work per week, though actual hours may vary based on resort operations and weather conditions.
Location & Duration
- Location: Village Centre Mall, Big White Ski Resort, BC.
- Term: Full-time seasonal roles from early June through September.
- Wages: $20.00 per hour
