Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Interior Designer to join the Workplace team in the Toronto office. In this role, you will lead interior design projects from concept development through contract documentation and implementation, while working with a diverse range of clients and managing complex assignments. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and self-motivated, with the ability to deliver high-quality design solutions across multiple project stages.
Role accountabilities:
- Promote design excellence through the spirit of team collaboration
- Advances innovative design concepts which are practical, aesthetic, safe and conducive to intended purposes and function which is reflective of client goals and within project budget
- Lead efforts on different project types, adhering to program and budget
- Conceptualize and describe design ideas through 3D visualization and hand-sketching
- Selections and specifications of finish materials and furniture
- Lead in the preparation of design and construction documents to generate detailed design solutions
- Interface with clients, contractors, and consultants. Lead project meetings & client presentations
- Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established standards
- Coordinates with mechanical, electrical, structural, Lighting, Audio-visual, and communications consultants
- Organize and prioritize own work efforts as well as assist with organizing team members, tasks and meetings
- Administer contract documents, bids & negotiations including construction administration
- Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFI’s
- Mentor and train junior designers
Qualifications & Experience:
- A professional degree in Interior Design
- 6+ years of experience of interiors experience in corporate workplace design, with the ability and interest to work in different sectors
- Excellent written, verbal and graphic communication skills
- Strong knowledge of the design process including specification of materials & FF&E
- An understanding of building codes
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Google Sketch Up, Adobe Suite, graphic design, and 3D visualization software
- Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn
- Ability to collaborate with team members and follow instructions
- ARIDO registered member is an asset
- Corporate Interiors experience is essential, with other sector experience an asset
- Outstanding organizational skills are necessary to be successful in this role
- Passion for design
- Strong communication skills
- Highly organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects

The salary range for this position is $72,000-$109,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
