About the Role
As ATB’s next Systems Administrator, who is adept at managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of basic and complex systems. They are skilled in technology configuration and integration, understand system best practices and business needs.
Accountabilities
- Manage the health, security, and performance of the Windows Server environment, including strategic patching and advanced administration.
- Own the operational excellence of the VMware virtualization platform, expertly managing and administering vCenter environments.
- Engineer and deploy new virtual infrastructure, leveraging both VMware and multi-cloud platforms (GCP/AWS) to support business growth.
- Secure and manage core identity services through Active Directory and Domain Controllers, including expert configuration of Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security best practices.
- Drive incident resolution and service requests by managing the team's workflow in ServiceNow (or similar ITSM platforms), ensuring rapid response to system alerts and inter-team issues.
- Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery readiness by administering VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and validating successful data replication and recovery plans.
- Serve as the technical expert and liaison with external vendors, overseeing resolution for infrastructure support, hardware failures, and vCenter performance challenges.
- Provide critical 24/7 support by participating in an equitable on-call rotation, ensuring the stability and high availability of production systems.
Skills, Experience & Requirements
- Expert proficiency in Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022) administration.
- Strong scripting skills, particularly PowerShell, for automation and repetitive task management.
- Deep knowledge of VMware vSphere and vCenter Server administration including server template management and VM provisioning and troubleshooting.
- Experience building and managing VMs in (GCP) and (AWS).
- Extensive experience administering Active Directory (AD, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, replication, Kerberos) and familiarity with Domain Controller hardening and security.
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewall concepts) in a server context.
- Ability to troubleshoot performance issues related to CPU, RAM, storage (SAN/NAS), and network I/O.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are paramount for effective interaction with vendors, cross-functional teams (like Linux), and users.
- Proven ability to articulate technical issues clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
