Outreach Workers are responsible for providing community support to clients of the Mental Health Program, which enables the client to maintain an optimal level of functioning while living with a chronic mental health illness. Outreach Workers work in an interdisciplinary team setting.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum two (2) year Post Secondary School Diploma in Social Service Work

  • Previous experience working with individuals with severe mental illness in Renfrew County and in a community setting

  • Experience in a team-oriented environment an asset

  • Valid G Driver’s License (or equivalent)

  • Has an available, safe vehicle, and clean driver’s license record three (3) years prior to date of hire

  • Carries appropriate automobile liability insurance of no less than $2,000,000

  • Demonstrated ability and experience facilitating life skills and social recreation groups

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of Renfrew County

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities

  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member

  • Ability to coach, mentor and influence

  • Staff may be cross-trained and support other function centres in a time of need

  • Proficiency in the use of computer applications and software programs

  • Embodies the LEAN ideology by actively and continually seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital

  • Bilingualism preferred (French/English)
