Terms: Full-time – Contract (6-months)
Salary (CAD): $69,200 - $85,500 (Commensurate with experience) This salary range reflects the expected starting salary based on qualifications and experience. This is not the full salary range for the position. Opportunities for growth within the full salary range are available in alignment with organizational policies and individual / organizational performance. The offer package provided to the successful candidate will be based on experience, qualifications and other relevant factors.
Location: Hybrid work model (Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto)
ABOUT THE ROLE: Note that this job posting is for an existing vacancy. The Software Developer is a member of the HSO Software Engineering Solutions and Quality Assurance team, reporting to the Director, Software Engineering Solutions. The Software Engineering Solutions and Quality Assurance team is a dynamic, cross-functional team comprised of Software Engineers, QA Engineers, and Product Managers who work closely with internal and external parties to build a new digital experience for our users. As a Software Developer, the use of Agile methodology and Scrum is something you embrace! Your passion for software means you exhibit exceptional programming skills, proven software design abilities and a high degree of adaptability and creativity. You have a track record of designing and creating great user experiences for end-users. You’re not afraid to take initiative and ownership and you make sure to stay on top of the latest and greatest in technology.
Main Responsibilities
Staying abreast of current technologies and industry trends—leveraging both front-end (Angular) and back-end stacks to deliver robust solutions. Finding innovative solutions to any problems that may arise, whether in front-end UI/UX or server-side functionality, leveraging your ability and preparedness. Using your excellent communication skills to clearly explain technical issues to colleagues and stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge. Designing, implementing, and maintaining software applications, systems, and utilities, spanning UI components in Angular through microservices and databases. Working collaboratively with other teams to ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end services, meeting or enhancing service requirements.
Must Have Qualifications
Solid software engineering background, with 4+ years of experience developing enterprise-scale web/cloud-based software products. Proven ability to take projects from scoping requirements through to launch, with a keen eye on both front-end user experience and back-end scalability. Strong experience designing and building applications in technologies like Java, Spring Framework, Docker/Kubernetes, MongoDB, MySQL. Proficient in modern front-end development using Angular (TypeScript, HTML, CSS) to build responsive, user-friendly interfaces. Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices, plus exposure to continuous delivery and DevOps culture. Experience working in a fast-paced environment that requires agile, clear thinking for quick turnaround of accurate, high-quality deliverables while managing multiple priorities.
Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with Linux operating systems. Knowledge and experience with Agile methodologies. Experience working with clients/organizations in the health-care sector. Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work well independently or in a cross-disciplinary team, remote or co-located.

Meet regularly with your manager to discuss progress and accountabilities. Take on assigned initiatives or projects for your role.
