Objective
The Portable Power Road Technician is helping customers on site maintain a strong and reliable fleet. With safety at the forefront, we inspect, test, and diagnose generators and electrical equipment and repair on site to keep our customers’ jobs moving.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all portable power equipment is rental-ready by cleaning, checking, and properly refueling
- Diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on all Portable Power equipment including various diesel, gas and LP/NG generators and electrical equipment.
- Safe operation of company vehicle and travel to various customer job sites to perform onsite repairs.
- Ensure every customer is treated in a fair and consistent manner and resolve issues as they arise.
- Operate and test equipment (under actual operating conditions, if possible).
- Follow all paperwork and computer procedures related to servicing of equipment and maintain those records.
- Maintain all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the rental management computer system.
- Adhere to all Company and job site-specific policies and safety standards.
Requirements:
- 3 years of Generator repair or related experience.
- Heavy equipment trades certification is an asset.
- EGSA (Generator Technician) certification is an asset.
- Small engine repair experience is an asset.
- G Class (ON)/Class 5 (AB) provincial Driver’s license with current clean abstract.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Results oriented, achieving high levels of individual and team performance.
- Flexible with the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bona fide job requirement that you wear the following PPE safely and as per regulations:
- Hard hat
- Steel toed boots
- High Vis vest or uniform
- Safety glasses
