About the role
Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement is seeking an immediate Senior Automation Developer Location: 5700 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario (Onsite)
Client: Health Services Cluster, Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement
Contract: April 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026 (186 business days)
Hours: 7.25 hours/day, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Mon-Fri (excluding lunch)
Security Level: CRJMC
About The Role Senior Automation Developer identifying automation opportunities in software testing, designing/executing QA tests via scripts, utilizing automation frameworks, collaborating with QA/developers, reviewing/improving approaches. Analyzes DevOps processes/standards/best practices, provides tool support, participates in retrospectives, evaluates tools/processes. Transforms functional/system knowledge into test planning/execution, creates test data, performs reviews/user sign-offs.
Fully onsite role requires working 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00-5:00 PM (excluding lunch) Monday-Friday at OPS office location.
Key Responsibilities
QA & Automation/Testing (45 points)
- Identify automation opportunities in development/testing processes
- Design/develop/execute automated QA tests validating functionality (Selenium frameworks)
- Design/maintain test automation scripts
- Install apps/databases for automation
- Object-oriented testing methods knowledge
- Traditional/Agile/DevOps teams experience
- Programming language proficiency
- Enterprise performance testing (LoadRunner, scenario design/execution/analysis)
- Functional/non-functional testing: COTS patches/releases, enhancements, regression, HL7-FHIR REST/JSON/XML, APIs, integrations
- Security testing (SAML, JWT)
- System testing documentation creation
- AODA/WCAG 2.0 accessibility testing
- BI solutions testing (data setup/integration/validation via reports/ad-hoc queries/SQL)
- Production release validation/reports
Logging/Tracking/Defect Reporting (35 points)
- Identify/document bugs/quality issues
- Defect logs/summary reports (Jira, Confluence, TestRail)
- Task/project status updates
- QA/cross-functional meetings participation
- Test prioritization (business priority, defects, time)
- Problem-solving for shared resources (environments/data)
- Walkthroughs/triage sessions
