Who we need

Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure, we are looking for an Infrastructure Administrator to join our team. This is a pivotal role where you will design, manage, and advance the systems that form the backbone of Array’s operations. You will ensure performance, reliability, and security while driving automation, scalability, and innovation that will shape the future of our technology environment and support the growth of the organization.

This is a full-time role, working Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What’s in it for you

Expand your technical expertise. From managing server rooms and data centre operations to working with virtualization, disaster recovery, and cloud platforms, you will gain broad exposure to core infrastructure. You will also have the opportunity to branch into other areas such as security, depending on your interests.

Influence and impact. You will shape how infrastructure supports the business, contribute to long-term roadmaps, and help guide the growth of the department. Your work will keep critical systems running, safeguard data, and ensure resilience. The solutions you implement will directly affect business continuity and position Array to compete effectively in the years ahead.

Career development. As Array undergoes a transformational stage and establishes itself as a more professional leader in the industry, you will have the chance to help shape the department’s evolution into a true business partner model and play an active role in driving this transition. As the company grows, you will have the opportunity to grow along with it.

As our new Infrastructure Administrator, you will be responsible for:

  • Infrastructure operations. You will configure, deploy, and manage server room and data centre systems, including two server rooms in Scarborough (one on-site, one two blocks away) and a data centre in Kitchener, requiring occasional travel. You will administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file and print services. You will oversee all equipment and services inside the data centre, maintain IT asset inventory, and coordinate hardware lifecycle management. You will be the first point of contact for service-related incidents and ensure systems are deployed and maintained on a daily basis. You will also conduct capacity planning to ensure systems scale effectively.

  • Systems and support. You will partner with project management teams to design, implement, and maintain core business systems and applications. You will assist with cloud platforms including identity access management, email, security, and productivity tools. You will troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues while minimizing downtime. You will participate in regular meetings to gather requirements and align expectations with business stakeholders.

  • Security and resilience. You will manage backup and restore systems, test and refine disaster recovery plans, and ensure data integrity. You will collaborate with the Cybersecurity team to implement safeguards that protect data and monitor information systems. You will implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure infrastructure health. You will also support disaster recovery and management technology to maintain business continuity.

  • Optimization. You will drive the evolution of our infrastructure by building scalable, automated solutions that reduce manual intervention and anticipate future business needs. You will use configuration management tools to standardize environments, design automation to improve efficiency, and refine scripts to unlock new performance gains.

  • Innovation projects. You will lead smaller-scale infrastructure projects, such as updating data centre systems, while larger initiatives will be supported by a project manager. You will stay constantly on top of emerging trends, analyze their applicability, and recommend innovative practices and cost-effective solutions that enhance reliability and long-term competitiveness.

  • After-hours responsibilities. While there is no official on-call rotation, you may occasionally be asked to support critical issues after-hours and participate in pre-planned maintenance work outside regular business hours, including some weekends.

You have:

  • The experience. You have worked in technology operations and have direct experience with server infrastructure, core hardware, and networking. You are proficient in Microsoft server technologies and the Microsoft .NET software stack. You have strong knowledge of virtualization systems, including Hyper-V and VMware. You have experience with Veeam Backup and Replication and disaster recovery configuration. You may also have experience managing Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online and Defender. Experience with SQL Server is a strong preference.

  • The drive. You are self-motivated and proactive with a commitment to continuous improvement. You are organized, detail-oriented, and capable of making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. You take initiative, think critically, and apply common sense to solve problems and maintain momentum.

  • The technical skills. You have the ability to configure, manage, and optimize infrastructure using modern tools and practices. You are comfortable automating processes and refining systems to improve performance and efficiency. You bring expertise in backup and restore systems, virtualization, disaster recovery, and server technologies.

  • The interpersonal skills. You have excellent problem-solving and professional communication skills. You can work collaboratively across teams and effectively communicate the business impact of technical issues.

What you can expect from the interview process:

  • A virtual interview with a Talent Advisor discussing your interest in the role, the team’s culture and your experience.

  • An in-person interview with the Hiring Manager. They will spend some time getting to know your background in further detail and answer any questions you may have about the role.

  • An on-site panel interview with the Hiring Manager, a senior team member, and a member of our HR team.
