About the role
Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Home & Agro Centre Manager to join our Home Centre team on a full-time basis at our location in Wainwright, AB. Reporting to the Associate Director of Energy, Home & Agro.
What you’ll do:
- Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal & external customers and team members, while ensuring that the administrative requirements of the role are maintained on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure department standards are met with inventory, ordering, stocking, merchandising, and displaying products.
- Be responsible for communication, planning, organizing, implementation and execution of business operations at the Home & Agro Centre.
- Be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the entire Home & Agro Centre Team Leaders and Team Members in all areas of People, Financial, Market Growth, Sustainability, Operational Excellence & Safety.
- Be responsible for developing sales strategies and marketing initiatives to grow revenue, increase market share and drive overall profitability.
- Monitor and analyze sales reports, expenses, and key performance indicators, implementing action plans to achieve financial targets and control costs.
- Oversee staffing levels including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, coaching and succession planning to ensure strong team performance.
- Lead regular team meetings and communication sessions to align staff on goals, updates, priorities and operational changes.
- Ensure facility standards are maintained, including cleanliness, safety, building maintenance and equipment functionality.
- Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations.
- Be available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule as this is a 7-day a week operation.
- Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are:
- You have post-secondary education in Business, Retail Management, or a related field, or an equivalent of retail experience.
- You have a minimum of 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a retail, home improvement, or agri-business environment.
- You have proven experience in leading teams, developing talent, and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- You have strong business and financial acumen with the ability to analyze sales reports, control costs, manage budgets, and drive profitable growth.
- You are highly organized with excellent planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- You are customer-focused and passionate about delivering exceptional service and building lasting relationships.
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, leadership, vendors, and customers.
- You demonstrate a high level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism in all aspects of your work.
- You are adaptable, innovative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and continuously evolving retail environment.
- You are willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support business operations.
- You’re able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
