Outstanding Faculty Mentors
About the role
The Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentors are selected each spring based on nominations from undergraduate students. Students nominate faculty mentors by completing a survey detailing how the mentor has positively impacted their research experience. A committee reviews the nominations and selects the recipients; in most instances, the award recipients receive multiple nominations in a single year.

About UA Office for Undergraduate Research
The University of Alabama's Office for Undergraduate Research (OUR) is dedicated to enriching the undergraduate experience through hands-on research opportunities. Through collaboration with experienced faculty mentors, we help students build research skills, deepen their academic knowledge, and prepare for future success. We offer a wide variety of programs and resources, such as the Emerging Scholars Program, Research Ambassadors, Research Apprenticeship Program, and Research Roundtables. To support ongoing research, we also hold a Faculty Research Showcase and Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity Conference each year, as well as provide grants for travel and student-led projects.
