About The Role Join Shopify's SMB Acquisition team as an Account Executive and be the catalyst for business transformation. Work alongside entrepreneurs to craft commerce strategies that scale e-commerce and brick-and-mortar operations. This role is for driven sales professionals eager to help small businesses succeed. You'll independently source sales opportunities and navigate complex stakeholder landscapes throughout the sales cycle. Your expertise will shape Shopify’s Revenue organization, driving mentorship and strategic innovation to reach more merchants. Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with prospects to understand their unique business goals, challenges, and needs, and provide tailored Shopify solutions to help them grow.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to identify and target potential customers within the SMB segment.
  • Lead outreach efforts through door-knocking, cold calls, and emails to qualify leads and generate interest in Shopify’s offerings.
  • Manage a comprehensive sales cycle from initial contact through contract signature, maintaining an accurate pipeline of opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, solution engineering, and customer success, to enhance client engagements and outcomes.
  • Stay informed about the latest product features, industry trends, and market dynamics to provide the best possible advice and service to merchants.
  • Actively source and build your sales pipeline, demonstrating a proactive approach to forecasting and setting priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven field AE experience, particularly with face-to-face sales techniques such as cold calling and door-knocking.
  • Results-oriented and driven by hunger for success, with the determination to pursue leads and close deals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trusting relationships and effectively conveying the value of Shopify’s offerings.
  • Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and engage with multiple stakeholders, including C-level executives.
  • Experience with POS technology/eCommerce preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a consultative and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Experience working in New Business Sales & Sales Development
  • Experience selling or having in-depth knowledge of one or more of the following industries: Ecommerce, Fintech, Retail, Hospitality
  • Previous experience selling POS systems is a plus
  • Experience with MEDDICC, BANT, and Challenger sales methodologies is a plus
  • Experience managing a specific territory
