Maintenance Supervisor
Help us set the standard for work as a Maintenance Supervisor at our Saskatoon facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigning, coordinating, and participating in the regular maintenance and repair activities at our Montreal terminal, while ensuring the provision of safe, timely and efficient service.
What you’ll do
-
Plan and participate in work activities, ensuring a high standard of workmanship, including:

Safety and regulatory inspections;
-
Maintenance of material bulk handling;
-
Adhere to facility repair and preventative maintenance programs.

Perform the daily supervision of staff to ensure full compliance of Viterra’s programs and policies.
-
Create and participate in the daily shift and toolbox meetings.
-
Budget, plan, communicate and execute on large-scale facility shutdowns with various internal contractors and external Viterra staff.

Order and check pre-ordered material and complete local purchases.
-
Participate in work site business planning meetings as required with local operations employees.
-
Control and monitor critical equipment inventory, based on facility design and inventory availability.
-
Identify safety training requirements and ensure staff have completed their necessary training.
-
Ensure company equipment and material receives proper care custody, maintenance and usage.
-
Evaluate employee performance and make recommendations to the manager on hiring, promotion and discharge of employees.
What you bring to our team
- Proven ability to lead and supervise employees in a unionized environment.
- Proven mechanical aptitude/ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently.
- Availability to work extended or on-call hours, as required.
- Availability to work on shift, including weekends as required.
- Minimum of four (4) years progressive experience in bulk material handling maintenance and repairs.
- Journeyman level certificate with relevant experience and leadership ability with supplemented supervisory training is preferred.
