About the role
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define the scope of the project in collaboration with senior management based on contracted deliverables
- Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
- Record and track risks, in order to mitigate and eliminate, throughout the life of the project
- Determine the resources (time, people, equipment etc.) required to complete the project
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocate the resources to the activities
- Review the project schedule with senior management and all departments that will be affected by the project; revise the schedule as required and communicate internally / externally
- Establish the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated based on contract milestones and customer goals
- Execute the project according to the project plan and record progress activities
- Ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured in designated locations
- Monitor the progress of the project and adapt as necessary to ensure the successful completion
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders internally and externally
- Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures
- Collaborate with the Purchasing department to ensure deliverables and contracts suit the project requirements as an active member of supply chain management
- Ensure that all financial forecasts for the project are up to date
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
- Manage change, using the Change order process
- Track and forecast all expenses such as job costs and personal expenses
- Ensure that all activities are performed with highest ethical standards and in compliance with RAMP Inc. business policies and procedures
- Customer site visits will be occasionally necessary for project kick-off meetings, acceptance testing and project closeout; a valid passport, without restrictions, is required for international travel
- Adhere to both internal and customer site health and safety rules and procedures
- Conduct post project reviews and generate a lessons learned report for senior management review
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- 5-8 years of experience as a Project Manager
- PMP designation is an asset
- Proven experience using Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, Visio and MS Project
- Strong understanding of machine design, robotics, and control systems
- Background in industrial automation solutions or process engineering is an asset
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel internationally
EDUCATION:
- University Degree in Mechanical Design, Electrical Engineering or other related field and/or PMP designation
