About the role
##About Steel
Steel is building open-source browser infrastructure for AI agents and apps. We make it easy for developers to ship AI products that interact with the web using our Sessions API.
With over 6,000 GitHub stars, dozens of paying customers, and millions of sessions served monthly, we grew our platform 50x in 2025 purely through word-of-mouth and our open-source community. Backed by world-class investors, we're building a small, highly motivated, talent-dense team that's shaping the future of how humans interact with the internet.

The Role
We're looking for a Founding GTM Associate to be our first dedicated commercial hire. You'll work directly with the founding team to capture and convert the inbound signals we already have. Follow up with new signups, get the right people on calls, and help developers get unstuck with our product. There is no playbook yet. You'll help build it.
Your day-to-day will look like...
- Triaging every signup, Github stargazer, and product signal to figure out who needs help
- Writing personalized follow-ups that developers actually want to read
- Getting good-fit accounts onto calls with the founders
- Helping users get unstuck with onboarding, questions, and lightweight product guidance
- Building and working a short list of dream accounts with founder-assisted outreach
- Synthesizing what you're hearing into playbooks: objections, use cases, what's working, what's not
Requirements
- Intelligent, Persistent, and high agency. You figure things out without waiting to be told
- Technical comfort. You can read docs, understand APIs, and hold a convo with devs
- Detail-oriented and thoughtful in personalizing outreach so prospects feel genuinely understood
- Highly coachable and open to feedback, eager to continuously refine your approach
- Evidence of initiative - You've built, started, or hustled your way into something
- Motivated to learn the full sales cycle and become an Account Executive over time
- Comfortable with ambiguity and a GTM motion that's still taking shape
- Able to work in-person from our Toronto office
Nice-to-haves
- Ex-founder or have shipped a side project
- Familiarity with developer tools or infrastructure
- Experience at an early-stage startup in any capacity
Applying
If there's a fit, we'll schedule a short intro call. After that, you can expect a work trial and an on-site at our Toronto office to debrief, walk us through Steel, and meet the team.
