Our Estimating and Pre-Construction team is looking for an Estimator to join our
team in Grimsby, Ontario. In this role you will be responsible for building both conceptual and firm estimates for design-build and competitive tender projects involving modular buildings, non-combustible panels and kiosks. The primary focus is to compile the architectural, structural, furnishing and appliance costs, while coordinating labour costs and sub-trade quotes for mechanical and electrical portions.
This is an in-office full-time permanent role reporting to the Manager, Estimating and Preconstruction Services.
Job Responsibilities

Complete full analysis and detailed reviews of the Preconstruction Services Request packages, client RFP’s and detailed construction bid documents (drawings and specifications).

Develop competitive and efficient design-build solutions that put ATCO in a position to win the project.

Prepare and present detailed cost estimates, specifications, scopes of work and supporting information for review with the senior leadership team.

Conduct a complete analysis of the bid request packages and prepare coordinated bid documents for issue to vendors and subcontractors for pricing requests.

Gather material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing while accurately estimating internal labour hours required for project execution.

Maintain a centralized vendor and cost database while managing assemblies, price books, and coordinating with supply chain teams.

Maintain strong vendor relationships by staying informed on product offerings and sourcing new vendors as needed.

Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance, while meeting quality standards and stakeholder expectations.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications

Engineering technologist or a technical diploma with 5-7 years of relevant experience
-
Hands-on construction experience is considered an asset.

Ability to read and understand drawings & bid documents (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, etc.)

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

Strong computer skills and the ability to develop new software proficiency quickly.

A positive, team-oriented attitude with a competitive drive and a strong commitment to shared goals.
