Company Description Water’s Edge Environmental Solutions Team Ltd. provides fluvial geomorphology, natural channel design, and water resources engineering services to government, agencies, and land development clients. Role Description The Water Resources/River Restoration Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Cambridge, ON. This role involves supporting the planning, assessment, and design of river restoration and water resources projects, including hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, channel design, and bank stabilization solutions. The engineer will prepare technical reports, design drawings, and specifications, and assist with field investigations, data collection, and construction observation. Daily tasks include collaborating with multi-disciplinary team members, analyzing geomorphic and hydrologic data, using GIS or CAD and related tools to support project design, and ensuring that solutions align with natural science and adaptive management principles. The role also includes coordination with clients and stakeholders, contributing to proposals, and supporting project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in Water Resources or Fluvial Geomorphology, including hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and river restoration design. Proficiency with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for spatial analysis, mapping, and integration of environmental and engineering data. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical Geography, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field. Eligibility for professional licensure (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) in Ontario or progression toward licensure. Experience in fluvial geomorphology, natural channel design, or river restoration projects is an asset. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams and clients. Ability to work on-site in Cambridge, ON, conduct fieldwork in varying conditions, and manage multiple projects and deadlines responsibly.

Staff have worked extensively with aquatic and terrestrial biologists, engineers, landscape architects, planners and economists in determining appropriate design solutions and management options for our river systems.
