What you’ll do (the highlights)
The Casual Team Supervisor is responsible for leading a pool of approximately 100 Casual Direct Support Professionals providing leadership, ongoing training, and support. The Casual Team Supervisor also fulfills administrative tasks associated with the Programming Team including but not limited to Centralized Services, Specialized Supports, and Client Accounts. Reporting to the Director of Centralized Services the Casual Team Supervisor oversees the casual team’s day-to-day operations and collaborates with the Scheduling team for shift coverage. This is a crucial role in enhancing organizational efficiency and fostering a safe and comfortable environment for the people we support.
What that looks like:
- Working full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday working in the office and in the field. Must be able to flex hours to provide on call and location supports on evenings and weekends as needed
- Receive support and guidance from the Director of Centralized Services.
- Conduct performance reviews and supervise staff ensuring all casual support staff contribute effectively to the DASCH mission.
- Ensuring all team members meet the minimum required shifts.
- Serve as a positive role model for staff and the people we support.
- Maintain effective communication with the Program Managers, the Location Supervisors, the Scheduling Coordinators, and the pool of casual support staff.
- Liase with the scheduling team to promote effective utilization of casual support staff.
- Foster a sense of belonging and teamwork among staff, creating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
- Provide leadership to create a respectful working environment.
- Generate creative solutions ensuring high quality care is delivered.
- Offer staff continuous training, mentorship, and guidance for professional growth, including on-shift support during evenings and weekends as needed.
- Promote independence and encourage decision-making through recognition and respect of individual interest and choice.
- Provide on-call support for staffing as per protocol.
What you bring (and why you’ll thrive here)

Your qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience leading a team of 5 or more staff.
- Minimum 1 year experience using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms.
- Proficient in operating smartphones and mobile applications for scheduling and communication.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Minimum 1 year experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, including knowledge of best practices in the field.
- Willingness and ability to travel to multiple DASCH locations across Winnipeg as required.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle during working hours.

- Annual Salary: $45,760.00
- Three weeks of vacation earned over your first year are available to use as you earn them.
