About the role

Our BC Operations team is looking for a Student – Project Engineer to join their team for the upcoming summer term. This position is located on-site at our office in Powell River, BC. The student will be introduced to areas of engineering (Civil, Electrical, & Mechanical), Compliance, Dam Safety, and Operations of hydro power generating facilities through various assignments. This position is expected to commence on or around May 4, 2026 for a period of approximately four months.

Student hourly rate: $23-27/hr based on level of experience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Reviewing engineering and inspection reports and define scope of work for recommendations
  • Assist in building a project management process and documentation
  • Provide support on filing technical documentation
  • Assist in implementing new technology tools
  • Assist in project planning and execution
  • Complete weekly tasks and job meetings during capital and major maintenance projects;

What you must have:

  • Working towards a degree in electrical, civil or mechanical engineering

  • A professional, can-do attitude

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
