Position Overview
The Wellness Guide promotes and enhances the wellness experience by guiding guests through wellness rituals in heated and non-heated spaces.
They will lead guests through wellness experiences in and out of the sauna with a focus on sauna experiences that may include essential oil and herbal infusions, towel waving techniques to distribute heat and aromas, salt scrubs, and working with music and performative elements to create a memorable experience.
Shifts: Full-time/Permanent. Days, evenings & weekends.
Wage: $25 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Rituals
- Lead wellness rituals in the sauna, blending elements of infusions, towel waving techniques, and music in an intuitive and guest-focused manner.
- Create a welcoming and safe atmosphere for guests before, during and after the wellness rituals.
- Offer wellness rituals throughout the spa that enhance and deepen the guest experience.
- Answer questions and concerns with exceptional care and customer service.
- Continue to develop skills and deepen knowledge of rituals, aromatherapy, towel waving and immersive wellness experiences.
- Assist team members before, during and after rituals in set-up, guest management and clean up.
Guest Experience and Education
- Be a source of knowledge and exceptional service as guests move through their guided or self-guided experiences.
- Monitor spa’s facilities to ensure proper use of the spaces by guests, educate guests in a warm and informative manner.
- Work closely with spa attendants, spa welcome agents, managers, and other team members to ensure high-quality guest service.
Facility Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean and welcoming environment in the sauna and ritual spaces before, during and after the rituals.
- Support Spa Attendants in the cleanliness and organization of spa areas to ensure guests feel comfortable and cared for.
Sales & Marketing
- Promote and sell spa products and services, recommending packages and upgrades to enhance the guest experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality, preferably in a spa or wellness environment.
- Experience as a yoga teacher, spa therapist, massage therapist, dancer or performer is an asset.
- Knowledge of contrast therapy, aromatherapy and aufguss ceremonies is an asset.
- Passion for wellness and a desire to deepen knowledge of thermotherapy, contrast therapy, aromatherapy, and enhancing wellbeing with nature.
- Ability to work in a heated environment.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a calm and positive attitude under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
