About the role
Overview We are seeking an experienced and strategic Plant Manager to oversee all daily operations within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This leadership role requires a strong background in manufacturing, supply chain management, and process optimization, with a focus on lean manufacturing principles and quality control. The Plant Manager will play a critical role in aligning operational goals with company objectives to foster a safe, productive, and innovative work environment.
Responsibilities Lead and coordinate all plant operations, including production, maintenance, food safety, grow, quality assurance, sanitation and logistics. Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs. Utilize ERP systems such as SAP and other MRP tools to plan production schedules, manage inventory levels, and streamline supply chain processes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies. Oversee quality control procedures to ensure products meet industry standards and customer expectations. Manage a team of supervisors, technicians, and assembly workers; provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety awareness across the plant. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing output, efficiency, and quality metrics.
Requirements Masters degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related field; advanced certifications or training in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma are preferred. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic manufacturing operation while contributing to the company's growth through innovative management practices and process excellence. Proven experience in manufacturing management or plant operations within an industrial environment. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with expertise in process improvement techniques such as lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in ERP systems or other similar platforms; experience with MRP systems is highly desirable. Knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory control and logistics coordination. Familiarity with quality control standards and assembly processes within manufacturing settings. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive operational excellence. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization and operational efficiency.
