We are currently seeking a full-time Dispatch Coordinator to join our team! In this role, you will be the go-to person for coordinating and scheduling our drivers, ensuring smooth operations, and delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll focus on customer service and passenger satisfaction, assist drivers, and keep everything running efficiently.
The shift for this position is 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend on-call coverage is required.
Wage: $23.00 per hour
Qualifications
- Experience in the school bus industry considered an asset
- Class 1 or 2 driver's license considered an asset
- Good knowledge of Winnipeg and surrounding area
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally while exhibiting confidentiality and diplomacy
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a composed manner
- Customer service focus
- Expertise in organizational planning and problem solving
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Create, dispatch, communicate, and troubleshoot daily planning
- Ensure that drivers and staff are treated in a fair and consistent manner using the guidelines and rules set down in the Driver’s Handbook and Policy and Procedures manual
- Ensure school routes are covered in an efficient and fair manner
- Help charter department fill charters as needed
- Assist in answering public and driver inquiries and finding solutions to concerns
- Ensure all required paperwork/requests is completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Create/improve existing operating systems
- Be aware of the yard’s bus situation and work with the Service Writer and any mechanic or mechanic’s helper to ensure that all units are maintained in working order in a timely manner
- Keep appropriate staff informed of any major issues, changes, concerns etc. in an expedient fashion
- General office duties as required
