Shift: Friday 4:45pm - 9:15pm

Salary: $17.85 per hour
Reports To: Supervisor, Sports Leagues

Nature & Scope
Join Our Team! The YMCA Youth Basketball League, in partnership with Basketball BC, offers co-ed teams for grades 2-7 in Surrey and Delta. It is a volunteer coach-driven league with no scores or standings kept. It provides children an opportunity to have a fun and rewarding experience while enjoying the game of basketball in a recreational environment.
Major Responsibilities**-** in this position, you will**:**
- Open, supervise, set-up, clean-up and close facility every game night.
- Officiate basketball games in a fair manner according to YMCA rules.
- Interact and communicate with players, coaches, and spectators as well explaining calls and rules
- Have fun and role model positive behaviors
- Ensure safety of all participants, staff, and property
- Read, understand and follow all YMCA requirements and standards
- Behave in a professional manner
Qualification**-you bring:**
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required
- Previous Basketball and officiating experience
- Experience working with children and youth in a recreational setting
- At least 16 years of age at the start of employment
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
- 3 professional references
