Department/Unit/Program Description
The Operating Room performs elective and emergency surgery on an outpatient and inpatient basis. The multidisciplinary team of surgeons, anesthetists, nurses and support staff work together to ensure a positive experience for the patient.
Position Summary
The Operating Room is currently seeking a Temporary Part-time Operating Room Assistant to join their team.
Effective August 10, 2026
Ending on or before: January 04, 2027
Essential Qualifications
Knowledge of aseptic techniques
Must be physically fit as heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, moving and bending required Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with patients, family members and all levels of staff Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
Preferred Qualifications
Current experience in reprocessing
Housekeeping experience
Hours of Work
Rotation of eight (8) hour shifts, days and evenings, Monday to Sunday. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
