About the role

The Merchandising Director, Canada, will drive the commercial performance across 10 stores and digital, overseeing all product categories and ensuring the assortment, inventory, and product storytelling are fully integrated into a broader go-to-market strategy. This role leads category strategy, owns local buying for Canada, and partners closely with Retail, Supply Chain, Digital, Communications and Finance to unlock growth through product, client insights, and market opportunities.

Missions

Market & Category Strategy

  • Define and execute the Canada merchandising strategy across all product categories, aligned with global brand direction and local market needs
  • Own seasonal and ongoing category plans: assortment architecture, launch strategy and lifecycle management
  • Translate client insights, competitive intelligence, and store feedback into actionable commercial priorities and recommendations to global teams
  • Lead 360° product go-to-market planning with Retail, VM, Comms, Digital, Supply Chain, and Retail Learning to ensure flawless execution in stores and online
  • Own the digital trading and e‑merchandising agenda: online assortment, product ranking, navigation, onsite storytelling, and conversion levers
  • Partner with Communications to integrate product priorities into campaigns, press opportunities, influencer, strategies and key moments, ensuring brand consistency and measurable commercial impact
  • Propose Media and Social Media plan to zone partners
  • Drive post-launch performance reviews and course-correct actions
  • Drive and animate preselling and after-show wish list
  • Inspire and engage the team around all product categories

Buying, Forecasting & Inventory Optimization

  • Own and govern local buying for Canada, including selection, forecasting, and allocation in line with brand guidelines and financial targets
  • Build a budget by store and by category in line with the buy balancing permanent and seasonal collections
  • Build business cases for local opportunities (exclusives, local hero products, replenishment depth, regionalized assortments)
  • Lead forecasting and inventory strategy with Supply Chain to maximize availability while protecting stock efficiency and stock health
  • Monitor performance and lead action plans across sales, margin, sell-through, stock cover, and aging
  • Rebalance the stock to recreate a proper offer to increase sell through or end of life selling

Leadership development

  • Manage and develop one direct report

  • Establish strong business rhythms (weekly/monthly trading updates, launch readiness, and executive-level performance reviews)

  • Build strong collaboration routines with store teams to ensure “field-first” execution and continuous feedback loops

  • Co-build trainings and learning programs participating to building product knowledge and launch managements skills in our retail team

Profil

  • 8–12+ years of merchandising experience (multi-category preferred), including leadership in a retail market environment

  • Proven track record driving commercial growth across stores and digital; strong understanding of e‑merchandising and trading

  • Experience owning assortments and forecasts; buying experience strongly preferred

  • Strong cross-functional leadership with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and translate product strategy into market impact

  • Analytical and client-centric mindset; comfortable with data, storytelling, and executive-level communication

  • People leadership experience with the ability to develop high-performing teams

Informations complémentaires

The role is based on our Corporate Office in Toronto, ON.

Regular travel within Canada for store visits; occasional travel internationally as required.

The appointed candidate will be offered an annual salary within the range of $170,000-$210,000CAD, plus the opportunity to participate in our Corporate Bonus program, a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance and AD&D, retirement plans, various paid time off programs, and employee discount/perks.
