Your future role on our team
As a designer, you’ll take part in multidisciplinary engineering projects in the mining sector. You’ll work in our Québec City office with local engineers as well as designers in our other BBA offices. You’ll also play a key role in all phases of engineering projects, ensuring exceptional technical quality of deliverables.

- Design 3D systems and equipment (mechanical, piping and structural)
- Work with point clouds (3D scanning)
- Select equipment for the mining sector
- Create layout drawings of mechanical, piping and structural systems and equipment
- Gather technical information on site
- Perform detailed calculations
- Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects of complex tasks
- Prepare plans and specifications based on guidelines

Summary of certifications and job requirements
- College diploma in mechanical engineering technology
- From 2 to 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience with 3D design
- Multidisciplinary knowledge (mechanical, piping, structural) or a willingness to develop your expertise beyond your core discipline
- Available for occasional travel to our other offices in Eastern Canada (Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Montréal, Saguenay, Sept-Îles, Labrador City)
- Available for short assignments at client sites
- At least three days per week required in the office
- Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
- Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
- Asset: experience in the mining sector
- Asset: knowledge of SolidWorks, Revit, SmartPlant 3D, CADWorx, Ansys and AutoCAD applications
- Asset: knowledge of piping, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, welded assemblies and structure
