How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The main object and function of this position is to proactively manage the facility’s maintenance department and programs in accordance with the LI NAM maintenance requirements. Supervise all activities related to production equipment maintenance and projects in a manner which is safe and efficient, in compliance with regulatory requirements, internal customer requirements, operating budgets and management requests. This needs to be conducted in a way that meets and promotes the LI NAM quality and safety objectives.
- Personnel and HSE Management: Manages a safe work environment and maintenance execution as well as the development of the maintenance technicians. Ensures direct supervision of Maintenance technicians to safely execute work activities at each facility for the unionized and non-unionized maintenance employees. Manages labor relations in accordance with the collective agreement where applicable. Proceeds with employee performance evaluations. Evaluates training needs and makes sure that employees receive adequate training.
2 . Manage maintenance activities: Establishes mid and long term maintenance strategies in response to maintenance priorities and equipment availability. Ensures that maintenance activities align with the LI Maintenance Policies and work practices as defined by LI NAM Director of Maintenance. Develops and forecasts the plant maintenance budgets which integrate recommendations for optimal allocation of resources (staff, budget, material, etc.). Plans, organizes and implements maintenance activities while considering costs. Actively contributes to the Major Turn-Around (TAR) planning and scheduling in conjunction with the Centralized LI NAM Planning & Scheduling team. Oversees the purchases of required material for maintenance including the spare part storeroom/warehouse and the inventory management. Manage the critical spare holding list and inventory. Ensures that all requisitions for purchases of equipment or services have the appropriate specifications. Fulfills role of CMMS Super User to support the deployment and use of the CMMS tool at the sites. Ensure the accurate and timely capture of maintenance data in the ERP and CMMS systems. Develop and enforce work order management protocols, ensuring proper job planning, execution, and close-out. Drive cost-effective maintenance strategies through efficient use of ERP/CMMS analytics. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to system utilization and maintenance efficiency. Facilitate weekly maintenance meetings to review status of PMs, corrective work, upcoming schedule, resources planning and report the status to the plant manager as well as to LI NAM Maintenance Center. Conduct periodic reviews to identify and resolve ERP/CMMS data integrity issues in conjunction with the LI NAM team. Scoping and job planning for all service requests with correct execution coding assigned. Loading purchase requests against corrective work orders in the CMMS system. Coordinate contractors and other service providers executing work and accurately account for the associated costs in terms of hours and service delivered.. 3 . Ensures activity follow-up: Ensures respect of allocated maintenance budget. Manages and controls maintenance expenses based on the operating budget. Maintains site maintenance KPIs in line with those set by LI NAM. Accurate recordkeeping in the CMMS regarding equipment repair costs, preventive maintenance programs, total maintenance costs, job planning, etc.
- Ensures preventive maintenance: With guidance from LI NAM, maintain and improve a preventive maintenance system. Prepares the preventive maintenance schedules in accordance with the LI NAM scheduling tools. Analyzes this system and proposes appropriate adjustments when required, in consultation with the Reliability Engineer.
5 . Process improvement: Works with his/her team as well as with multifunctional teams to continuously improve the work processes and job plans linked to specific tasks. Continuously analyses the execution of the work activities, identifies causes of dysfunction and proposes corrective measures accordingly. Where applicable and in order to improve reliability of equipment, proposes modifications to equipment and procedures to improve efficiency and safe operation of equipment. 6 . Quality / Safety: Actively promotes LI NAM’s safety, environmental and quality objectives. Ensure that the appropriate corrective and preventive maintenance plans are in place to enable sustainable operation of the facility. Develop and implement structured quality management frameworks, including, but not limited to:
- Flange management procedures.
- Functional checks for critical equipment.
- Calibration protocols for instruments.
- Instrumentation trip and alarm verification processes.
Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality standards. Facilitate on the job training to enhance technical competency in quality management practices. Ensure job completion prior to closing work permits and work orders. Ensure compliance with industry best practices regarding Yard work - housekeeping, snow removal, etc. ___________________
