As a GIS Developer, you’re responsible for the development and delivery of new geospatial content. You’ll design, develop and maintain new data processes as well as design and implement client facing layers. You enjoy being part of a collaborative team that includes GIS developers, senior data developers, .NET developers and DBA’s, and understand how to work with both technical and non-technical business groups.
This role reports in to the Data Services Manager.
How will you spend your day?
- Analyze and identify source data to build new layers
- Create ETL processes to ingest and process data
- Design and implement geospatial layers, including metadata
- Document new processes and layers
- Collaborate across technical and business teams to discover and deliver customer-centric solutions
Ready to apply? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Post-secondary education in GIS and/or Computer Science
- 5+ years of experience in geospatial ETL and data design
- Expertise in ESRI desktop tools like ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, FME Desktop, and ArcPy
- Experience in loading spatial layers to Oracle SDE and other data repositories
- Strong background in development of monitoring and ETL validation scripts
- A solid understanding of geospatial coordinate systems, map projections, and transformations
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience of the full software development lifecycle
- Familiarity with Canadian Oil and Gas data
- The ability to work under pressure to resolve real-time issues with systems in production
