Mandate
As a member of the LivingWorks Marketing and Communications Team, the Marketing and Communications Designer plays a key role in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of promotional materials, campaigns, and corporate storytelling, both internally and externally. The Marketing and Communications Designer is responsible for producing creative and compelling content with high-quality visual assets, motion graphics, and other digital materials that align with LivingWorks’ brand and messaging.
In addition to graphic design, the Designer actively contributes to the broader Marketing and Communications
team by supporting content creation, internal communications, campaign planning, and other relevant tasks. This cross-functional role blends technical design skills, creativity and other marketing communications duties with a collaborative, team-oriented approach to advance LivingWorks' mission and communications goals.
Key Accountabilities
Graphic and Digital Design
- Uphold and apply LivingWorks’ brand standards and visual identity across all internal and external communications.
- Design and produce high-quality print and digital assets that support marketing and communications strategies across departments and platforms.
- Create and edit compelling and sophisticated short-form motion graphics, animations and video assets that connect with target audiences and objectives.
- Support the ongoing maintenance and application of the Product ID system to ensure consistency across materials.
- Manage and organize internal libraries of design files, photography, and video content for easy access and reuse.
- Lead the layout, design, and pagination of print materials, ensuring accuracy and visual consistency.
- Prepare and review print proofs in collaboration with external vendors to ensure high-quality production standards.
- Design and deploy engaging digital content using approved brand templates and messaging, including email campaigns.
- Create compelling social media graphics and templates to support digital storytelling and engagement.
- Assist with ongoing website updates and maintenance to ensure content remains current, accessible, and on-brand.
- Understand various key stakeholders and target audiences for content and asset creation.
Marketing and Communications Support
- Support the creation, implementation, and evaluation of marketing and communications assets including, online/print material, web, posts, newsletters, brochures, email, conference displays, signage and other promotional items.
- Support and assist with the planning and execution of LivingWorks special events, conferences, and celebrations.
- Collaborate with LivingWorks team members to conduct market research.
- Accountable for brand management, including brand awareness and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Recommend effective communications tactics for LivingWorks initiatives to increase brand awareness and engagement.
- Assist with monitoring and reporting on the success of digital and traditional campaigns.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Graphic Design or related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in graphic design (professional or strong portfolio-based).
- Proven experience using design and digital tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, etc.).
- Experience with marketing and communications-related tasks including, copywriting, content production, multimedia production, social media campaigns, etc.
- Adept in photography and video editing is an asset.
- Previous exposure to marketing, communications, and/or mental health environments is considered an asset.
- A portfolio of completed marketing assets and motion graphic projects is required for consideration.

- Proven ability to manage lifecycle of creative materials – from concept, ideation, design, direction selection and through to execution and implementation.
- Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, provide innovative ideas or solutions and follow through on projects.
- Work with key stakeholders to understand the brand, audience, and intended message to create strategic, high-performing content.
- Create original designs that communicate desired intentions in a visually creative, unified way.
- Excellent eye for design, colour and composition.
- Ability to collaborate and ideate with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build strong, trusting relationships with all levels of the organization.
- Comfortable working within tight deadlines, managing multiple projects, and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to brand consistency.
- Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and creating meaningful, mission-driven design.
