About the role
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Disaster Recovery Officer to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of disaster recovery plans and procedures. This role is ideal for someone with foundational knowledge in IT systems and risk management who is eager to grow in the field of disaster recovery and resilience.
Position Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery (DR) documentation, including recovery plans, runbooks, and testing schedules.
- Support DR testing activities, including planning, execution, and post-test analysis
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and standards
- Responsible for coordination with Partners and respond to various DR Audits and Annual DR compliance reports
- Monitor and report on DR readiness across systems and departments
- Work with L2 Risk to build more robust and executable Disaster Recovery plans
- Maintain appropriate documentation, records, and reports for auditors
- Ensure project and support teams, Senior management, and business staff address any IS related deficiencies that may be identified by an Audit.
- Establish and oversee department procedures, documentation, and training to align with records management policies
- Responsible to keep corporate audit databases up to date with statuses, issues, remediation plans etc.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information technology, Disaster Recovery, or related field
- 5+ years Disaster Recovery experience
- Experience that demonstrates capability in disaster recovery, IT operations and risk management.
- Understanding of disaster recovery principles and IT infrastructure.
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure and technologies (e.g., backup solutions, cloud recovery platforms).
- Good communication and relationship management skills, enabling collaboration with people at various levels throughout the organization
- Excellent negotiation and conflict skills with the ability to challenge and drive to appropriate level of risk mitigation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills Effective interviewing, influencing, facilitation and presentation skills
- Demonstrable ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Certifications such as CBCP, ISO 22301, or ITIL are a plus but not required
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Salary range is expected to be between
$109,600.00 CAD - $159,600.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
