About the role
Job Description On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Programmer Analyst (.NET Developer) with experience working in legacy enterprise environments—ideally involving .NET Framework development (version 4.5 or higher), Team Foundation Server (TFS), SQL Server, and hands‑on work with government or large enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
- .Net development: Develop effective and efficient technical solutions to meet business needs based on approved requirements and following established coding practices. Solution delivery will require participation in design reviews, code reviews and unit testing of developed solutions.
- Work with Project’s Project Lead/Business System Analyst: Utilize requirements documented by the Project’s Business Systems Analysts (BSA), solicit clarity from, and provide feedback to the BSA as required to ensure clarity of these requirements.
- Attend required meetings: Actively participate in solution design, code review, project status and team meetings
- Team Foundation Server: Update Team Foundation Server project tasks daily to track work completed, decisions made and status of tasks.
- Knowledge Transfer: Actively ensure knowledge of developed solution is transferred to the Senior Programmer Analyst by way of documented materials and verbal discussion.
Qualifications Mandatory Requirements
- 3 years – Minimum development experience.
- 6 years – Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- 6 years – Availability to participate in project activities between April 2026 and March 2028.
- 6 years – Meets or exceeds one of the following: a university degree in an IT‑related field, a 2‑year IT‑related college diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Scored Requirements
- 2 years – Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2017+.
- 1 year – Experience developing bilingual software.
- 2 years – Demonstrable experience with .NET 4.5+ runtime, Visual Studio 2012+, and SQL Server 2008R2+.
- 2 years – Experience commenting source code and updating TFS.
- 1 year – Technical knowledge of the Family Support Order Services system and subsystems.
- 1 year – Experience generating documents using Microsoft Word.
