Summary
Wapiti Gravel Suppliers, a division of N.P.A., is hiring Concrete Finishers for the 2026 Construction Season!
The Concrete Finisher is responsible for the efficient pouring, shaping and finishing of freshly poured concrete for curbs and sidewalks. This role plays an important part in the concrete process and ensures high-quality results and appearance of finished work.
Key Responsibilities
Line up the concrete mixer truck and direct the consistency and direction of the flow of concrete into the concrete machine. Pour, spread, and level concrete using rakes, shovels, screeds, floats and machines as specified by blueprints, project plans and/or verbal instructions. Smooth and finish surfaces using hand and power tools. Apply curing and sealing compounds to concrete structures. Repair and patch existing concrete structures as needed. Ensure work area remains clean and free of dust and foreign particles from adhering to concrete. Operate a variety of hand and power tools. Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture. Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics. Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics. Other related duties as required.
Qualifications | Requirements
High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Class 5 drivers license. 1-2 years experience with concrete or in the road construction industry preferred.
Working Conditions
Weather dependent schedule of Monday to Saturday, up to 12 hours per day. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation. Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis. Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required. Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended. Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
