About the role
We are seeking a motivated and professional Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing sales team. The BDR will focus on outbound lead generation and appointment booking to support our Account Executives. The core objectives of the role are to identify potential business clients, initiate meaningful conversations, and qualify opportunities that will drive our growth in the telecom sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound cold calls to Canadian businesses to introduce Bell’s telecom solutions.
- Research and identify potential clients by creating targeted prospect lists using available tools and resources.
- Qualify leads by understanding their business size, current telecom services, and decision-making structure.
- Update and maintain accurate and relevant call lists in compliance with internal standards.
- Book qualified meetings for Account Executives and ensure smooth hand-offs.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach, conversations, and outcomes in our customer relationship manager (CRM) software.
- Stay current with industry trends, telecom offerings, and competitor activities to effectively position the value of working with Bell and Excell.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative sales culture while participating in ongoing sales training and development.
Skills & Requirements
- Previous experience in a business development, outside sales, or cold calling is an asset.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and professionally.
- Fluent in English with excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Solid organizational and multi-tasking ability.
- Resilient, persistent, and comfortable with handling rejection while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Self-motivated, with a proven ability to meet sales targets and drive results.
- Proficient in typical Windows / Office applications and basic business research tools.
- A strong team player who is willing to contribute to shared goals and continuous improvement.
This role offers a base hourly wage complemented by performance-based commission and
other incentives, with an opportunity to earn ranging from $18-$22 per hour or more when combining base and supplemental pay.
