What is the opportunity?
As the Director, Marketing, you will lead the marketing efforts for Asia ex- Japan for RBC’s asset management business. Aligned with the business growth strategy and leveraging the wider marketing team, the Marketing Director will research, plan and drive an integrated marketing strategy, to build brand awareness, nurture clients and new contacts as part of the sales process, and positioning RBC BlueBay Asset Management’s brand in the region.
What will you do?
- In conjunction with the Head of Global Institutional Marketing, establish an Asia ex-Japan marketing and brand strategy, and lead the implementation and measurement of that strategy targeting intermediary and institutional investors in the region.
- Work in close collaboration and build strong relationships with regional distribution teams, particularly the Head of Asia ex-Japan Business Development, investment teams, and members of the marketing and communications teams.
- Research, plan and deliver marketing campaigns and branding activities, that leverage our full capabilities as a team, including digital, thought leadership and product marketing to deliver measurable and impactful campaigns and activity, that fully aligns to the business objectives.
- Maintain robust processes and systems for monitoring, recording and reporting activity, ensuring they align to objectives and plans, and optimized accordingly.
- Oversight of translation quality and processes for marketing materials.
- Work with global partners to elevate the brand across Asia, leveraging the ‘Ideas Happen Here’ brand approach.
- Work as a key member of the Global Institutional Marketing leadership team to support the regional business and the activities of the wider business.
- In conjunction with the Communications Director based in London, support the Asia based PR agency in their activities.
- Collaborate with the RBC Wealth Management and Capital Markets marketing teams on joint activity and branding, where relevant.
- Responsible for strengthening and supporting asset management’s participation in RBC’s culture of philanthropy by supporting charitable corporate donations and sponsorships and select employee volunteer programs. Support the execution of charitable initiatives and programs including the RBC Celebration of Impact and RBC Race for the Kids and will help raise internal awareness by supporting Citizenship communications.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Degree or equivalent is required.
- 10+ years of financial services experience, with extensive experience in asset management in Asia, particularly in marketing strategy and execution.
- Proven experience in marketing, particularly in the development and delivery of marketing strategies and campaigns, targeting primarily intermediary audiences, but also institutional investors.
- Highly organized and entrepreneurial, with strong drive for being client centric.
- Excellent relationship management and partnership development capabilities and skills – highly collaborative.
- Ability to be strategic alongside hands on delivery.
- Ability to leverage multiple sources and agency-style support.
- Able to manage effectively as a member of a global team across multiple time zones.
- Excellent communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills particularly with senior executives.
- Strong command of English and Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese (Written).
- Excellent project management, leadership skills and attention to detail.
