Data Analyst - Parallel Testing

Location: Toronto, ON

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid — 1 day/week in office on Mondays

Contract Details

Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 16 months (with potential for extension; FTE conversion possible) Pay Rate: C$85.00–C$90.00 / Hour (CAD) Shift / Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (flexible)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support a large-scale system migration initiative. This role will focus on parallel testing of legacy and new systems to ensure a seamless transition with minimal impact to reporting and business operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying and resolving data issues, validating data integrity, and collaborating with project teams to investigate discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

Support parallel testing efforts between legacy and new systems Analyze and validate data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness across both systems Investigate and troubleshoot data discrepancies, connection issues, and reporting gaps Review mapping documents and translate logic into SQL queries to assess data relationships and identify root causes of issues Execute queries using query tools to trace data sources and validate outputs Document findings, escalate issues, and collaborate with upstream project teams to drive resolution Participate in regular meetings to provide insights on data inconsistencies and system behavior

Required Skills

SQL knowledge (8 years) Understanding of window functions within SQL General reporting experience Able to multitask Change management Great communication skills Team player Attention to detail

Preferred Skills

Understanding of mapping UAT / ATL Business Analysis (BA) experience

Interview process: 1 in-person interview (approximately one hour) with Sun and Mike; manager availability TBD The candidate may begin work while employment history verification is being completed by the supplier; suppliers have 30 days from the start date to complete verification Target start: first week of August
